Lord Carey was head of the Anglican church from 1991 to 2002 - leading the third largest Christian community in the world.  Since his retirement he has been involved in several inter-faith projects including co-chair of the World Economic Forum - Council of 100, an initiative aimed at furthering dialogue and understanding between the Islamic World and the West. He is also president of the London School of Theology.

He heads a Lebanese NGO which aims to build relations between different religious groups. He is also a professor at Holy Spirit University in Lebanon, a priest in the Maronite church and head of its Inter-religious Relations office.

 

Ahmed Saad

Shaykh Saad spent 17-years studying Islam at the prestigious al-Azhar system of schools in his native Egypt. A former student of the Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ali Goma, Shaykh Saad led his first prayer at the age of 13 and delivered his first Khutbah at the age of 15. Since then, he has been involved in religious dialogue participating in global inter-faith projects. He is also founder and chairman of the Ihsan Institute for Arabic & Islamic Studies based in London.

He was elected into the Tunisian Senate in July 2005 and is the only Jewish elected legislator in the Arab world. Senator Bismuth is also a member of the International Council of Jewish Parliamentarians, formed in 2002 as a platform for Jewish lawmakers to cooperate on issues of common concern such as battling anti-Semitism, forging strong interfaith relationships, and working toward social reform.
