Mohamed Fahmy Menza

Dr. Mohamed Fahmy Menza is one of the founding members of the Misr Al Horreya (Egypt Freedom) Party. Dr. Menza is a Professor of Middle East Politics and Society at the American University of Cairo and a Professor of Development in the Middle East and North Africa for the America-Mideast educational and training services. He has worked as a consultant to the UN and World Bank and his forthcoming book is entitled Patronage Politics in Egypt: the NDP and the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo.

 

Sameh Seif- Elyazal

Sameh Seif-Elyazal is a former army general who joined the  Egyptian military in 1965. He's the Chairman of the Al Gomhouria Center for Political and Security Studies in Cairo and provides strategic and political analysis to international, regional and local media.

 

Heba Morayef

Heba Morayef

Heba Morayef is a researcher in the Middle East and North Africa division of Human Rights Watch. She has been working in Egypt for the past two years investigating human rights abuses and conducting local and international advocacy.  She holds a bachelor's degree in political science with a specialisation in public international law from the American University in Cairo and a degree in public international law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

Gamal Abdel Gawad Soltan

Gamal Abdel Gawad Soltan

Dr. Gamal Abdel Gawad Soltan is a professor of political science at the American University of Cairo. Previously he was the Director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo where he headed the center's Middle East in World Politics and Survey Research programmes. Dr. Soltan now works as a consultant for the Center.
